This is probably be my last blog of the year, and guess what??? What a nice way of closing down this season saying that I made it through LPGA Q-School!! I got my full card!!! YEAH!!!
Although finishing the week in the best way possible, they were long seven days! We started the competition on the Wednesday, in my case on the Legends course. For those who have been following me through the live scoring, they know that I shot 7 over, and they are all probably wondering, what happened?? Well, if you asked me, I honestly have no idea. It was one of those days were you finish and you say, am I done already? Did I really shot 7 over? How?? It was definitely a very strange feeling. Nevertheless, there were four more days left, and it was far from ended. I treated it as a test, not a failure, which set me up for the next four rounds.
My second round was much better, I played in the Champions course, and shot one under. Made 5 birdies and it gave me lots of confidence for the coming days.
Now, we are talking and writing under water. The play was cancelled on my 8th hole because of heavy rain and storms. Funny, I was four under after 7 holes (had a 2 feet putt for par on the 8th). The LPGA organisers tried to re-start the play several times but it was impossible, so it was postponed till Saturday. It didn’t stop raining for 24 hours, and the course was soaked. Therefore, no golf for Saturday either. The fifth round was going to be played on Monday, and I had to cancel my flights to Dubai!
On Sunday, we started at 8 o’clock shotgun to finish out 3rd round and continue straight away with our 4th. Shot 68 and 68 respectively. I was tied 9th before my 5th round. Now, that’s what I call a come back…
I shot two under par in my last day, for a total of four under and tied 9th!!! Made the cut comfortably after my first round! Who would have bet for that?? IT IS ALL ABOUT THE CHALLENGE!!!
This has been by far my best season ever, achieving both of my short term goals: winning my first tournament in the LET and earning my full card for the LPGA. What a fantastic year!
I want to say thank you to all of you for the great support you have given me during the entire season and for your belief and trust! From the very deep of my heart, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE, JUST AS MINE DID
